MELBOURNE CENTRAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION (MCBA)

 

MCBA offers a Saturday competition that is local to many BWB families. It's the newest Association under Basketball Victoria, establishing in Oct 2021. The competition attracts players from from Port Phillip area and wider Melbourne.  Most games are played at Melbourne Sports Aquatic Centres (MSAC), the home of Melbourne Tigers. Being a new competition, the depth of play and opposition is still developing, with strongest competition being seen in U12 to U18 boys.  MCBA is governed by  a board that is committed to growing the competition in the City of Port Phillip and its surrounding areas.

• Games location: MSAC

• Summer Season: October to March

• Winter Season: April to September

• BWB Teams: u10 to U18 boys & girls

• Game day and times: Saturdays from 1pm to 6pm, depending on age group. 

• Divisions: A/B grade in each age

• BWB FULL Season fee for all training and games (6 months): $795.00

SOUTHERN BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION (SBA)

 

This competition offers a great Saturday/Sunday playing experience for our boys' teams. SBA is the home of the Sandringham Sabres and has been operating for almost 50 years. There are over 600 teams in the boys division. The range of divisions offer suitable competition for beginner players to high level Rep players looking for a strong domestic A grade competition.

• Games location: Cheltenham, Parkdale and Mentone

• Autumn Season: January to June

• Spring Season: July to December

• BWB Teams: u12 to U18 boys

• Game day and times: Saturdays from 7.30am-7pm, depending on age group. 

• Divisions: A to D grade in each age 

• Association website and calendar

• BWB Season fee for all training and games (6 months): $795.00
